Bad health effects like: Heart disease, back and neck pain, obesity and type 2 diabetes.
In fact, the journal Diabetologia had a study that stated just an extra hour of sedentary time was associated with:
And you’re probably well aware of the growing childhood obesity problem.
On a positive note, a recent study from Texas A&M said
“Standing Desks significantly increase calorie expenditure and improves classroom behavior.”
The study also noted students showed “increased neurocognitive benefits.”

We thought you might like knowing how Upright Kids came to be.
We’ve known each other a long time, went to high school and college together. We’ve both always had a passion for health and fitness.
While in college we worked for an Education Technology company.
It was at this office we were first introduced to standing desks.
Part of the job was visiting schools. It was then we realized how much time kids spend sitting during a typical school day.
And most schools didn’t have standing desks.
We presented our idea for standing desks at several events across the state and country ...
And were awarded grant funding for starting up in Milwaukee and Oshkosh.
